Norwegian-born and –based, Torbjørn's international
career started in 2001 when he was commissioned by the style magazine
Wallpaper* to research a story in the remote city of Murmansk, Russia. Since then, Torbjørn has contributed with articles on Norwegian architecture, as well as a feature on the Nobel Peace Prize for the magazine.

Torbjørn has written for Monocle, an international news magazine delivering the most original coverage in global affairs, business, culture and design.

Furthermore, he has contributed to leading Norwegian design and architecture magazine Design Interiør, for whom he has interviewed starchitect Zaha Hadid. Other media outlets on his client roster include Norwegian interiors magazine InteriørMagasinet, Denmark's Bo Bedre and Living Design, Swedish title Disajn, and Berlingske Tidende - a major Danish national newspaper.

He was formerly a trend-spotter for the London-based creative agency Winkreative, and a writer for The Norwegian Petroleum Diary, a magazine about energy, technology and science published by the Norwegian state.

An additional professional venture is as a design and architecture consultant/developer. Torbjørn co-operated with acclaimed Lebanese architect Ammar Eloueini to develop an architectural art installation for the Norwegian state in connection with the international energy fair ONS. The installation portrayed the Norwegian coastal landscape.
Torbjørn has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh, Scotland, and La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Apart from English and Norwegian, he also speaks Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.

He now lives in Norway's capital city Oslo.
